Accotink Creek
9 X 12 Painting by Anne Meagher-Cook
I aim to express the essence of each place I visit - reflecting the light, colors, mood, and feel of the moment.
I have loved and dabbled in art from an early age. I studied art at the College of William and Mary and pursued a long career in art-related fields, from graphic and exhibit design to video production, and finally e-learning development. Several years ago I discovered the joy of painting en plein air, which combines my passions for art and the great outdoors. I relish painting in the beautiful environs of Northern Virginia, soaking up my surroundings – and using oils, brushes and palette knife to convey an expression of each place and moment in time. I'm a member of Nova Plein Air Artists (NPAA) and enjoy our weekly outings to scenic areas, regional parks and local gardens. I have been fortunate to study with several of the area's finest plein air artists thru the Art League of Alexandria.
