“ArtSpireVa was born from a realization that too many young people are missing out on the transformative power of the arts simply because they lack access. Year after year, I watched young women step onto the floor for high school dance team tryouts, only to walk away because they had never had the chance to train. I knew this wasn’t just a dance problem—it was happening across all artistic disciplines.

I have always believed in the power of after-school programs, the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a team, and the confidence that grows through artistic expression. That belief led me to shift my focus from teaching dance to working tirelessly to break down barriers to arts education. Every child who wants to explore the arts—whether through dance, music, theater, or visual arts—should have the opportunity to do so.

Through our scholarships, we empower youth to step into arts-based programs that not only enhance their skills but also build confidence, creativity, and resilience. Studies consistently show that arts education supports academic success, but beyond that, it provides something even more valuable—an identity, a voice, and an outlet for self-expression.
