Artist Bio:
Anne Meagher-Cook loved drawing and painting from an early age. She developed an appreciation for the beauty of nature and varying landscapes while travelling and growing up abroad, interspersed with time in Virginia and summers in northern Michigan. After a summer spent at the Corcoran School of Art, she studied at the College of William and Mary with a major in fine arts - primarily printmaking. She pursued a long career in art-related fields, from graphic and exhibit design to video production, and finally e-learning development.
Upon retirement, Anne discovered the joy of painting en plein air which combines her passions for art and the great outdoors. She relishes painting in the beautiful environs of Northern Virginia, soaking up the surroundings - using oils, brushes and palette knife to convey an expression of each place and moment in time.
Anne is a member of the Nova Plein Air Artists group (NPAA) and enjoys weekly outings to scenic areas, regional parks and local gardens. She has been fortunate to study with several of the area's finest plein air artists.
She is also a member of Falls Church Arts and the Vienna Arts Society.
